Introduction

Ask any one of the girls who ran cross-country at Lumen Christi High School what their favorite part of the cross-country experience was and most likely reply would be their teammates and Coach Woolsey.  Since the team first began in 1979, Mike Woolsey has been teaching young women how to be achieve success on and off the course.  Through his exceptional motivational ability, Mike encourages his runners to reach their full potential as athletes and as human beings.  The respect and love Coach Woolsey has for all of his runners, and they for him, is the foundation for the Lady Titans success over the past 29 years.  The girls work hard and they give 100% effort because they want to make coach proud and they want to add to the rich tradition of the program he has built.  Mike has touched so many lives in the past three decades.  The strong devotion of Titan alumni is a tribute to Coach Woolsey and the relationships he builds with his runners.  Throughout their high school career, Mike becomes like a second father to his team and in turn he receives around 30 adopted daughters every year.  In addition to being an outstanding coach and role model, Mike is also an exemplary Christian.  He sets high standards of sportsmanship for his team and he ensures that God is always at the center of their focus.  Lumen Christi girls cross-country would not be what it is without Mike Woolsey because Mike Woolsey is Lumen Christi girls cross-country.
